SHAUN COOLWELL


On the 2nd October 2015, Mr SHAUN COOLWELL was aged 33 years old when he died in custody.

Shaun was a proud Mununjali Nations Man of Beaudesert region of QLD.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers attended the Logan residence and restrained Mr Coolwell.

Shortly afterwards, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) officers administered first aid, including the sedative drug Midazolam.

Mr Coolwell twin sister Shontay Coolwell stated that “It was paramedics who called police”. Mr Coolwell had hurt himself and was bleeding when his family called an ambulance.
